Amir to join Pakistan squad in England after testing negative twice for COVID-19

Mohammad Amir will join the Pakistan squad in England after testing negative twice for the coronavirus. 

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Aamir and massage mogul Mohammad Imran have twice tested negative for the virus.

“The first Test took place on July 21, which was negative. Now he [Mohammad Ameer] is eligible to go to England to join the Pakistan cricket team,” a PCB spokesperson said.

We have started planning a trip with Aamir and Imran and details will be shared soon, ”the spokesperson said.

 

Aamir, who has pulled out of the England tour, will join the Pakistan team after the birth of his second daughter, the PCB announced on Monday. Pacer and teammate Imran passed their first COVID-19 tests on the same day.

Reserve wicket-keeper-batsman Rohail Nazir will be released after arriving in England.

The Pakistan cricket team is currently in England, where they will play three Tests and several T20 matches.

The opening Test will take place at Old Trafford in Manchester from 5 to 9 August, followed by back-to-back Tests at the Agas Bowl in Southampton from 13-17 to 21-25 August.

Old Trafford will return to Manchester on August 28, 30 and September 1 to host three T20Is.
