DG ISPR pays tribute to the Kashmiris on their struggle of freedom

Rawalpindi: Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar, who congratulated the countrymen on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day of the country, said that the importance of independence should be asked to the mothers of Occupied Kashmir whose sons wrapped in Pakistani flags. 

Speaking at a press conference, DG ISPR said that Indian-occupied Kashmir had been facing siege for the last one year and no atrocities had been reported as Kashmiris had not suffered at the hands of Indian forces.

“His political leadership has been behind bars for the past one year, pellet guns have been used against peaceful protesters, as well as illegal killing of youth,” he shared of the injustice done to Kashmiris.

Maj. Gen. Babar Iftikhar, who paid tribute to their freedom struggle, said Pakistan had raised the issue on all international forums. “The United Nations Secretary-General has also called for peace in South Asia to resolve the Kashmir issue,” he said. The Indian Army violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control by targeting innocent civilians in border shelling, the DG ISPR said.

He said the new map of the country reflects its intentions.

Speaking on Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, DG ISPR stated that it is historic and that they have strong and fraternal relations between their two countries and will always be.

“Army Chief [General Qamar Javed Bajwa] is going on a scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia,” he said in response to a question from a magazine.

He strongly denied the claims made by Ehsan and said that his statements were baseless. He said the information he provided helped in eliminating terrorist modules in the country.
