LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar on August 12.
The CM Punjab to appear before NAB in connection with the allegations of granting illegal liquor licenses. NAB sources confirmed the news and said that CM issued a license of liqour to a private hotel, which was the right of DG Excise. Sources said he is called to record his statement inforont of inquiry team.
Chairman NAB said the board had removed Justice Javed Iqbal from accountability board and that NAB do not believe in any discrimination. “Mega corruption cases are brought to their logical conclusion,” he said, adding that corruption was a cancer and the biggest obstacle to the country’s development.
Earlier this year, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has also submitted his statement before the sugar Commission on the inquiry of sugar crisis. That commission was headed by FIA Director General Wajid Zia. Sources said that Buzdar counter the questions related to the export of sugar and its approval.
