Rapper Badshah admits spending Rs 7.2 million on creating fake follwers: Police

Mumbai: Bollywood rapper Badshah has reportedly agreed to pay Rs 750 million to buy fake followers, likes and views.

Crime Branch investigators have called a popular rapper for the third day in a row for questioning in a social media scandal over an advertisement for his scam madness. However, Badshah and his team have denied the allegations.

The Crime Branch called the rapper again on Monday and asked the singer to provide a list of his followers. The controversy began when the music video clocked 7.5 million times in an attempt to set a world record in 24 hours, but Google denied the claim.

An in-depth investigation was launched last year into social media-influenced marketing firm Chtrbox for leaking the personal data of more than 49 million Instagram users. Mumbai police have also revealed that the client list of a company named after several celebrities was fake.
