KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who lost his first Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester, has shown his support for current captain Azhar Ali.
“Bhayya stay strong, InshaAllah, we will bounce back Pakistan zindabad,” Sarfaraz tweeted for Azhar Ali.
Azhar Ali,aged 35, suffered his first Test defeat under his captaincy following fierce criticism from fans and former national cricketers. England beat the visitors by three wickets. Former captain Wasim Akram told Sky Sports that it would harm the Pakistan team and cricket lovers in Pakistan.
“Winning and losing is a part of cricket, but I think our captain has missed the game many times as far as his leadership is concerned,” he said.
It should be noted that Pakistan will now go to Southampton where the remaining two Tests will be played.
