An asteroid is expected to come close to Earth later this year and could hit the day before the U.S. presidential election in November, according to NASA data.
According to the Center for Near Object Studies at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a celestial object called 2018 VP1 is expected to pass close to Earth on November 2.
According to NASA data, the flying space object is 6.5 feet in diameter and was discovered two years ago at the Palomer Observatory in California.
It’s 2020 so an asteroid is headed toward Earth on the day before the election. NASA says the chance of it actually impacting Earth is 0.41%, so you can pretty much count on it. pic.twitter.com/7KkZOBrYd7

The three effects were described by the space agency as “based on 21 observations over a period of 12.968 days, with a direct impact of less than 1 percent”.
Let the planet erode, the agency decided that the asteroid will probably not have a profound effect.
